Nigeria Central Bank Gets New Governor

The Nigerian senate has confirmed the appointment of Mr Godwin Emefiele as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. He is to succeed the suspended former governor Lamido Sanusi, Emefiele was the Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank before his new appointment.

Former governor Sanusi was suspended by the Federal Government in controversial circumstances on February 20th over allegations of financial recklessness and misconduct.
