Grammy Awards is Political - Drake

To say Drake had a successful year in his music career will be the understatement of the year. On April 29, 2010, it was announced that Drake had finished  his debut effort Thank Me Later. Like the dramatist that he is, Drake announced the completion of the album to a crowd during his April 26, 2010, show at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Success translated to nominations at this year’s Grammys (he got 4) but unfortunately, the awards didn’t follow.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Drizzy discussed not yet winning a Grammy. "I've always been fascinated with the Grammys, so I don't mean disrespect when I say this, but I've kind of given up on them," he revealed. "If I ever get one, or when I get one, I'll be ecstatic, because that's a recurring dream I've had since I was a kid: That my mother's still alive and that I'm onstage accepting a Grammy, and I get to thank her on that stage. But it's tough. They can never really break their mold."

One loss, however, stuck out to him, was to one of the songs off of Jay-Z Blueprint 3, an album on which Drake was featured. "[T]he one that really got to me was when I lost to 'D.O.A.' for 'Best I Ever Had.' That one to me was, like, really? Not to say that Jay-Z isn't the most incredible rapper and that 'D.O.A.' wasn't a good song. I just felt like they had an option to give me a Grammy for a mixtape, and they just didn't do it [laughs]. Because it goes against the grain of everything that is traditional."

"I don't measure my success anymore by the Grammys. I can't because I'll just end up crushed. And, not to be offensive, I just feel it's political. Would I love to win a Grammy? Sure. Will I win one after that comment? Probably not."

Conrad Murray Pronounced Guilty!

November 7, 2011 Dr Conrad Murray was pronounced guilty for the involuntary manslaughter of the late pop king Michael Jackson, the jury reached a verdict after nine hours of deliberating. Dr Murray will be remanded in custody without bail till sentencing, which is Tuesday November 29th, 2011. He faces up to four years imprisonment and also losing his medical license.

Presiding Judge Michael E. Pastor ordered that Murray would not be put on bail and should be reprimanded to the L.A County jail where he would be till he receives his sentencing on Tuesday, November 29, 2011

Kanye West Reveals G.O.O.D. Music Album Plans

'Ye takes to his Twitter account and hints at a group album with his G.O.O.D. Music family. Yeezy has revealed that a G.O.O.D. Music album could be in the works for a Spring 2012 release, he shared the news through his Twitter account (@kanyewest). The G.O.O.D. Music family consists of Kid CuDi, Big Sean, Mr. Hudson, CyHi The Prynce, Pusha T, D'banj, Common and others.

Am Sorry – Soulja Boy Begs Fans

Soulja Boy took to his Twitter account yesterday to apologize to fans for his behavior, as well as those involved in putting out his new movie. Soulja Boy was arrested earlier tuesday morning in Temple, Georgia after police discovered ample amounts of marijuana, guns and cash inside of his car.

The 21 yr old rapper was in a car with four other men when police pulled them over for a traffic violation. After inspecting the vehicle, cops discovered a “substantial amount” of cash and weed, estimated around $70,000, inside the vehicle. All five were arrested, and Soulja Boy is currently being held in Carrol County Jail. Guns were also found in the car, though it’s unclear if any of them had licenses for them. They were later charged with felony possession of marijuana, felony possession of a weapon in commission of a crime and possession with intent to distribute.

Fif To Give Away 1million Meals Weekly!

He might rap about money girls and guns but Curtis Jackson a.k.a Fifty Cents sure has a soft heart. He recently started a humanitarian campaign (Street Kings) with which he stated that he intended to feed 1 billion hungry kids in the world. Fif has gotten straight down to business.

According to a recent press release, Mr. Curtis and Street King are launching a new initiative titled "One Like = One Meal." For every Like that Street King gets on its Facebook page, the energy drink company promises to donate a meal to a hungry child. 50 also promises that if the company can achieve one million Likes within in seven days, he will match their donation and provide another million meals.

The Bawse Is Back!

After two hospitalizations since Friday, Miami rapper Rick Ross was photographed in Memphis, Tennessee today. The ‘Big Bawse’ was pictured with collaborator and former label-mate DJ Khaled outside of a Wing  Stop restaurant.

On Friday (October 14), the emcee was cause for an emergency landing on a flight to Memphis when the Maybach Music Group CEO/founder had a seizure and reportedly lost consciousness. Ross had to cancel two scheduled performances as he recuperated.

Cam'ron Turns To Hollywood

Cam’ron is set to star in the upcoming film Percentage, a drama produced by Queen Latifah and Flavor Unit Entertainment. The movie, directed by Alex Merkin and written by Elya Ottenberg, will be the first shot in Flavor Unit Studios in Miami, Florida. Cam’ron stars alongside Omar Gooding as “two New York hustlers who are on the run from a drug deal gone bad. They settle in Miami to build a new empire in the world of credit fraud, but their success brings unwanted attention from law enforcement and Miami’s most notorious criminals.” Additional stars include Macy Gray, Ving Rhames, Antwan Tanner, Robert Watson and Malinda Williams.

Rozay Suffers Second Black-out!

US rapper and rave-of-the-moment, Rick Ross, has suffered another seizure on his way to Memphis for a concert with rapper Yo Gotti. An emergency landing was once again made but this time in Birmingham, Alabama. This is the second seizure attack the rapper has suffered within 24 hours. Few hours ago, TMZ reported that the 'Big Bawse' suffered a seizure on a flight from Fort Lauderdale, Miami to Memphis. He lost consciousness but was stabilized shortly after the attack. 

The Maybach Music boss has been rushed to the Birmingham hospital emergency room. Doctors have situated his current condition as ‘stable’. Before the second attack, the 35-year-old had posted a video clip in which he shows he’s alright. According to TMZ, Gotti has been asked to perform solo at the concert.

50-Cents Didn't Diss Me - Lupe Fiasco

Earlier this week, 50 Cent released the eleventh song in his Street King promotional series "50's My Favorite." But the Queens rapper raised some eyebrows when he seemingly took aim at Chi-Town emcee Lupe Fiasco with the lines, "I could fit your house inside my house/Then your neighbors and your yard/Oh my God/This shit ain't about shit, so I ain't gonna go hard/Now kick, push, kick push/Get the fuck outta here/Kick, push."

In a recent interview with 107.5 WGCI’s Tony Sculfield and The Morning Riot, Lupe responds to the claims that the G-Unit general attacked him on the record. Lupe says that he isn't mad that 50 mentioned his hit song's title in the song and that he doesn't feel the lines were a diss at all. Still, Lupe assured listeners that if push were to come shove, he wouldn't turn the other cheek.

"That's fine, 50 [Cent]'s a good guy," he said. "I got the chance to perform with his and tour with him a bit. I don't really look at it as a diss. I've got fans in high places, I guess...[responding] is always in the chamber. I've always keep that in the chamber, they know what's up."

Baba Suwe in Cocaine Mess again

Veteran Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina, (Baba Suwe) was arrested on Oct 12  by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) for being in possession of Cocaine.

Baba Londoner, as he is fondly called by fans, was scheduled to board a 10pm scheduled Air France flight to Paris before he was caught. The drugs were allegedly discovered in the 53-year-old actor‘s stomach as he passed through the scanning machine at the airport and he was immediately arrested and detained by NDLEA operatives. it would be recalled that Baba Suwe was rumored to have been caught in possession of drugs at an unnamed London airport a few years back and subsequently jailed. He denied the allegation at the time but this time, it won't be so easy to deny.
